Open University Exploring Nature Walk
Monday August 5th
Alner's Gorse
An excellent short walk in warm and humid conditions - very conducive to bringing out butterflies but sadly not the hairstreaks we had hoped for.
Even so, we did see a remarkable total of 12 species in just 90 minutes, also two identified moths and 3 dragonflies.
One the dragonflies looked like it was a new species for me, a scarce chaser,
but instead turned out to be the more common broad-bodied chaser.
As usual all the photos are linked to their iSpot page and I have also included a few from last year.
