July 26th The first Marsh Harrier seen on the trail was off Downclose this morning. A juvenile, possibly from the Lodmoor pair. A juvenile Kestrel was over Chickerell Road and like the Marsh Harrier was old enough to have flown some distance. An early Shag was at Small Mouth where there were also 3 Little Terns. A family party of Linnets in Downclose Cutting constituted the first breeding evidence this year. July 6th Another breeding bird was confirmed this morning when I saw a couple of juvenile Whitethroats in Downclose Cutting. July 3rd A juvenile Coal Tit at Sandsfoot Halt consituted my first proof of breeding on the trail for this species. |
