April HighlightsApril 29th - Another new bird today with a Grey Plover heard calling at the southern end of Downclose Cutting, where there were also 2 Whimbrel. April 25th - A Wood Warbler at Rodwell Halt was a new bird for the trail, bringing the total number of species I've seen on the trail in the last 4 years to 134. Also a pair of Coal Tits there that looked like they were collecting food for a brood of youngsters. April 23rd - The first Common Terns were at Smallmouth where there was also a Med Gull calling high overhead - too high too see! April 9th - The first Whimbrel of the year flew over Downclose heading east and nearby a male Kestrel was the first seen on the trail for quite a while. April 7th - A very late group of Brent Geese were off Sandsfoot Castle this afternoon - remarkably consisting of 4 dark-bellied birds and 4 pale-bellied birds.
