Radipole Lake RSPB Reserve
Sunday December 9th 2012
Radipole's famous population of bearded tits have been very easy to see lately, feeding on or near the boardwalk leading up to the hide.
Here's the first one I managed to film when I was down there yesterday, most likely a female although the patch of yellow on its bill suggests that it might be a young male.
This bird was very nice but I really wanted to film a male.
For a while I had to make do with this young male, notice the yellow bill.
You can also see the strange graduated tail in this sequence.
When I went back this morning the sun wasn't out but I did manage to get the camera on a nice adult male.
And then this lovely sequence of a pair feeding next to each other.
Last week they were all down on the boardwalk, picking seeds off the timbers.
