Today I filmed this mischievous crow and a very patient swan.
What I can't work out here is why was the crow doing this?
Was it just enjoying being a nuisance, or did it really want a feather out of the swan's tail?
Or did it just want to get the swan out of the way for some reason?
Crows are notoriously clever, and it is well known that they spend a lot of time at this time of year just watching where other birds are making their nests so they can pinch their eggs later on.
Perhaps it knew that it was never likely to get hold of a swan's egg so it didn't really want them taking up room that could be used by ducks.
Here's another crow video from last year:
And here's another one showing a more gentle side to them - unless you're a cranefly larva that is.
