The north hide at Radipole Lake was opened a bit late this morning as I was delayed by this little chap feeding on the abundant ragwort next to Weymouth Way.
It's nice to see a goldfinch feeding on natural food, away from the niger seed that everyone spends a fortune on for their bird feeders.
You might not have noticed it but that last video was slowed down to half normal speed.
Here's a sequence shot at normal speed, this time our goldfinch has been joined by another.
By pure luck I set the camera to 120 frames per second as the birds flew off.
Their movements are slowed down to a quarter normal speed but their wings are still pretty much a blur.
