My annual pilgrimage to see the wildfowl at Slimbridge this year coincided with a long-staying Jacksnipe there.
The bird was only about twenty feet or so from the hide but was determined not to be seen. If it was not for a very patient and determined birdwatcher called Bernie none of us would have found the bird. You can see why from this clip.
But that was really just a distraction. The main reason for being there was to see these gorgeous swans.
A huge variety of other birds were there as well of course, including these Pintail.
