September is when some birds leave Dorset for the south whilst others arrive from the north.
Currently each day sees more duck arrive at Radipole Lake, mostly teal and wigeon.
Today there was a pintail with the other ducks.
You may have noticed a group of birds flash past the camera near the start of that video.
They were snipe, another bird that winters in Dorset.
A few years ago I was lucky enough to get a much closer video of a snipe, in much colder weather.
At the time it was obvious to me that I would probably never get a chance like this again.
So I filmed the bird for quite a while ...
