A special visit to one of the few sites in England where you can see the large heath butterfly produced this little beauty.
This vicious little predator can be seen here "attacking" an already dead centipede.
Just after this it catches and eats a live ant, but you need to look very close to see this.

On the way back we stopped at Venus Pool on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, where there was this lovely bird, one of a pair of oystercatchers.
